Cross Stitch

What is Cross Stitch?

Cross Stitch is a form of counted thread embroidery, in which X-shaped stitches are used to form a picture. Counted cross stitch is worked from a gridded pattern called a chart.

History of Cross Stitch:

Cross Stitch has been around since the middle ages, traditionally used to embellish items like household linens, dish cloths and tablecloths. Often, motifs and initials were stitched onto items in order to identify the owner.
